The World's Famous Festival City
New Orleans, one of the world's most exciting vacation destinations, is famous for its Mardi Gras
festival. It attracts millions of visitors from around the world every year.

The French Quarter was built in 1721. Jackson Square is the good starting point to tour this special quarter. As a National Historic District, it has
many historical attractions, including the St. Louis Cathedral, the Cabildo and its unique architecture, the Evergreen and
Laura Plantations, and the Chalmette battlefield.
Cajun, Jazz and Mardi Gras
The Mardi Gras parades start in February and run till Fat Tuesday , the 27th in French Quarter. Behind the carnival atmosphere
is a long history. The Louisiana State Museum at the Presbytere opened a two floor exhibit devoted
just to Mardi Gras in Louisiana. In Mardi Gras days local people wear costume marching on the street.
Visitors can get ready for Mardi Gras parades by visiting some costume boutiques in the Quarter.
New Orleans is also a famous musical city in the U.S. Strolling on the street at the French Quarter
you can hear live music floats out from every corner. The jazz from the bars, restaurants and night clubs, and even the
paddle wheeler Boat.
There is almost no limitation to what you can enjoy in this exotic city. Sightseeing the historical sites,
steam boating on the Mississippi River, fascinating boat trip into Louisianan swamps and bayous, and tour some old south plantations.
New Orleans offers visitors world-class dining. In this unique city, you have opportunity to
taste Cajun cuisine as well as Italian, Mexico and Caribbean flavors.
