Honolulu tourist attractions
Aloha Tower is located right on the Honolulu Harbor and is a ten-story tower overlooking the Harbor and Downtown.
Iolani Palace, located in Downtown Honolulu on South King and Richard Street, is the only royal
palace in the United States.
Across King Street from Iolani Palace is the Aliilani Hale. Statue of King Kamehameha The Great stands in front of
Aliilani Hale, a memory of the king who had become sole chief by 1791 and the first to unite all the Hawaiian
Islands under one rule.
Honolulu Hale, or City Hall, is located on South King and Punchbowl Street. This Spanish Colonial
style building was built in 1929 and is now the office of the mayor and city council.
Mission Memorial Building on S. King Street was built in 18th-century in memory of church founders. Kawaiahao
Church, which was built in 1842, is Hawaii's most famous church. On the same street, Mission Houses Museum presents
the lifestyle of the first missionaries from New England.
USS Arizona Memorial is located in Pearl Harbor. About fifty years ago on December 7, 1941, USS Arizona
went down in Pearl Harbor by Japanese fighter-bombers attacked from the sky of Oahu. This Memorial was
dedicated in 1962, it is a tribute to more then 1000 American fighting men and women.
