Oahu Museums & Historical Attractions
As the third largest and second oldest island in Hawaii chain, Oahu has been the center of Hawaiian culture and history
since King Kamehameha I. Today, Oahu has many museums and historical attractions in every corner of this most populated
island. Besides the Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor, the Iolani Palace in Downtown Honolulu, and the Diamond Head
State Park in Waikiki, you can also find several temples, including Byodo-In Temple, Mormon Temple and
Valley of the Temples on the north shore of Oahu Island.
Oahu, the Gathering Place, offers numerous activities and attractions that make your vacation quite busy and exciting.
Aloha Tower Market Place
Aloha Tower is located right on the Honolulu Harbor and is a ten-story tower overlooking the Harbor and Downtown.
It was build in 1926 and has been a welcoming sight to tourists arriving Honolulu from the sea. Two-story Aloha
Tower Market Place, at the foot of Aloha Tower, loads with shops, restaurants and life entertainment.
Iolani Palace
Iolani Palace, located in Downtown Honolulu on South King and Richard Street, is the only royal
palace in the United States. It was built in 1882 and is a national historical landmark.
USS Arizona Memorial

USS Arizona Memorial is located in Pearl Harbor. About fifty years ago on December 7, 1941, USS Arizona
went down in Pearl Harbor by Japanese fighter-bombers attacked from the sky of Oahu.
This Memorial was dedicated in 1962, it is a tribute to more then 1000 American fighting men and women.
Punchbowl Crater
Punchbowl Crater holds the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. More than 34,000 U.S. service men and
women lie at rest in this crater of an extinct volcano.
Diamond Head
Diamond Head is the most famous landmark on Oahu Island. It bounds Waikiki Beach on the southern Oahu.
The Leahi Summit of this extinct volcano, rising 760 feet above sea level, provides visitors with
a panoramic view of Honolulu. To reach the Summit, you should prepare to spend 45 minutes to one hour hike along
trails, tunnels, and stairways.
